Robyn Fenty, aka Robyn Rihanna [2] (/ri’aen@(/ri'aen@/ (listen) Ree-AN -@;[3][4][n 1 was born on February 20, 1988. She is a Barbadian actor, singer, and businesswoman. Born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, Rihanna auditioned for American record producer Evan Rogers who invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. She was signed to Def Jam in 2005 and quickly became a household name when she released her debut two studio album, Music of the Sun (2005), and A Girl Like Me (2006). Both albums were influenced by Caribbean music and reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200 charts. Good Girl Gone Bad, Rihanna's third album, was influenced by dance-pop. It established her as an iconic sex figure in the music industry. Rihanna got her first Grammy Award for "Umbrella" which was a chart-topping hit that propelled Rihanna into global stardom. Her subsequent studio albums Rated R (2009) and Loud (2010) Talk That Talk (2011) and Unapologetic (2012) she continued to mix R&B as well as pop and dance genres. The last album , Unapologetic, was her first Billboard 200 number 1. These albums produced a number of chart-topping songs, including "Rude Boy", “Only Girl (In the World)," and "What's My Name?"
