Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 in 1967. She comes from the fourth Roberts family that resided in Atlanta. This started with her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. Her father was enthusiastic about theatre from a very young age. In 1952, while studying at Emory University, he performed in several productions in Atlanta. After he enlisted in the Air force and was spotted together with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. The two married in 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was an undergraduate at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957, the couple were discharged from the air force and Walter began studying at Tulane. Walter became a member of Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio at the time the family moved from Atlanta to Georgia's Decatur in the year 1960. The year 1964 was when Walter as well as Betty Lou began production on the local Saturday morning children's television program known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed themselves. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou founded their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. It ran for about six years. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
