Gunn went to The British American Drama Academy for one semester during the fall of 1988. The couple lived together in Pamela Adlon after moving to Laurel Canyon Los Angeles. Gunn was well known for her role for her role as Skyler in AMC's Breaking drama. In 2013 and 2014, she won the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Leading Female Actress in a Drama Series. In August of 2013, she created an op-ed article for The New York Times examining the general displeasure expressed by the public towards her character.
